Section 1
This section gives background information on the Faith-Based Community Organization (FBCO) grant awarded from the US Department of Labor to the SETC. It also provides descriptions of the Workforce Investment System, faith-based and community-based organizations, and reasons and suggestions for their collaboration. A listing of additional resources is also included.
Section 2
This section provides the final research report completed by Mathematica on a US Department of Labor grant entitled “Faith-based and Community-based Services—How Can They Complement the Workforce Investment System?” Twelve sites across the nation were examined, including a site in New Jersey.
Section 3
This section includes best practices of FBCO collaboration. Included initially is the PowerPoint presentation created by the Newark One-Stop Career Center and Mayor’s Office of Employment and Training (MOET) on Client Referral Partnership Training for FBCOs.
Section 4
This section is a PowerPoint presentation entitled Successful Grant Writing given at the SETC Conference in 2004 by Dr. William Reynolds of Rutgers University, Camden. This workshop was a huge favorite of the faith- and community-based organizations in attendance.
Section 5
This section is created to hold various resource directories. Included now is the NJ Workforce Development Directory, which provides contact information for all WIBs and One-Stop Career Centers and information on free US DOL Publications. This section can also hold the downloaded online resource directory.
